This three day event includes a two night stay in the wonderful city of York. We travel by coach, leaving Barrowford on the morning of Tuesday 25 April for a tour of Ripley Castle and grounds with be plenty of time to buy a lunch or bring your own picnic, we then move on to Newby Hall with time for afternoon tea. We should arrive at our hotel in good time to unpack and walk into the city for our evening meal at a restaurant just by Museum Gardens (approx. 5-10 mins walk).
The following day will be spent in the city; so much to see and do there and there may be an archaeological dig in progress for us to see – if we’re lucky. We plan to meet up at a restaurant for our evening meal then stroll (or roll) back to the hotel.
On the Thursday morning the coach will pick us up to take us out to Beningbrough Hall (National Trust) and after lunch there, we will travel on to Kirkstall Abbey where, funnily enough, we will be in time for afternoon tea before heading off for Barrowford, arriving back there at approximately 6pm (probably weighing a lot more than when we set out!)
This is a provisional programme for the excellent price of £380.00 for two people sharing a room (£190.00 per person) and £245.00 for a single room (working on current accomodation/restaurant prices). Included in the cost are two nights B & B accommodation in York, two evening meals (two courses), coach travel, admission to Ripley Castle and Newby Hall. ).
It sounds like a great trip and thanks go to those who’ve worked so hard on its organisation, based on previous trips you can be sure of good company!
