We will meet 10.15am in the café for a pre walk talk before a 10 30 start.
Usual clothing and boots appropriate to weather plus packed lunch for those who require one. At the moment no indications of needing sun cream but don’t forget talcum powder!

For those of you who require a traditional full English or bacon butty the café doors open at 10am, you will be in good company with the Rossendale crew.
We will explore around Heyhouses at Sabden, looking for evidence of vaccaries, roads and tracks etc. as identified on maps and Lidar. We dug a few sites up at the Craggs eighteen months ago and it will be very interesting to see how Craggs ties into the local landscape. As this is a date set aside for a Mediaeval work the leader for this session will be Catherine Rousseau Jones.
We should be back around 3-4 pm. If at all possible we try to car share in the interests of the environment and because parking places in some sites are limited.

If the weather is inclement we will retire to the Green Room for some post ex work or discussion or research.
See you on the 10th.
Sorry, the walk on the right> is not on the agenda at the moment.
