Our aims are to inform people about the rich heritage of Northeast Lancashire, and particularly the Pendle area. Where we can, we support local heritage projects.
Heritage Talks and Walks:
Our events have something for everyone in our local area and beyond. In recent talks we have learnt about amazing people and artefacts from the Northwest: Great Harwood Town Crier, resplendent in uniform; NORI bricks and knowing a ‘ringer’ from a ‘duffer’; the life and times of Dr John Webster; the history of the Hand, Dandy and Power Loom Makers in Trawden and Colne; the life story of Wilfred Micah Spencer; the story behind Royal Warrant holder – Peter Reed, one of England’s finest bed linen makers; Miss Violet Blakesden’s life story 1903-1937, pieced together from a series of beautiful postcards; a gardening demonstration from Greg Anderton from Leafy Lytham Garden Hub (Greg and his team have won a prestigious Gold Award at the 2026 RHS Chelsea Flower Show). We have visited Pendle Hippodrome Theatre, and had guided walks to Quarry Hill Nature, Reserve and Martin Top Chapel, Rimington.
