About The Friends

THE Friends are all our members from all ages and backgrounds.

THE Friends are all our members from all ages and backgrounds who have a common interest in the history and heritage of the Pendle area and  get together for a variety of events. We want to help people understand, discover and rediscover the breadth and richness of many aspects of our local culture that has been handed down the generations.  Through  our events we hope to bring the community together to keep our cultural heritage alive ready to be passed down to the next generation.

We are a stand alone charity tasked through our constitution with  ‘stimulating the interest of the public in Park Hill, the Museum and Pendle Heritage Centre in order to raise funds to support the centre’

The Friends operate under two banners  or sections. The Heritage Group and the Archaeology Group are both sub groups which have their own small committees.

A committee of the Trustees meet around six times a year to decide on the programme of walks, talks and importantly, fund raising events.

Our constitution gives us a pretty wide remit to explore our local heritage and culture.  We have talks and walks and events connected to our local area and beyond.

We have the following policies and documents in place.
